Mindreader AI: From Confusing to Converting
Mindreader AI had powerful technology hidden behind a confusing interface. We redesigned the entire product experience — from sign-up through analysis to results — and watched conversion climb 40% in the first month post-launch.
The Challenge
What we were up against
Learnability & Clarity
New users couldn't understand what the product did within the first 30 seconds. Without context, Mindreader's AI sales analysis looked like a personality quiz — and was being abandoned at the same rate.
Upload & Input Friction
The analysis flow required users to understand multiple input methods simultaneously — text, image upload, or quiz link — without clear guidance on which to choose or why.
Results Comprehension
The output screen presented charts and scores without contextualising what they meant or what the user should do next. High-value insights were lost because of poor information hierarchy.
Navigation & Flow
Broken CTAs, missing links between related features, and inconsistent navigation meant users repeatedly got lost — particularly experienced users trying to access historical analyses.
Trust Architecture
Users were skeptical about how the AI made its predictions. Without any explanation of the model's basis, trust was low — and without trust, professional adoption was impossible.
The Solution
What we built
Trust-First Onboarding
We restructured the sign-up gate to appear before any analysis begins, paired with a clear, jargon-free explanation of how Mindreader's AI actually works. Establishing credibility before asking for effort dramatically improved the conversion from visitor to active user.
Unified Analysis Flow
A redesigned input experience that guides users through a single, progressive flow — choose your method, follow the steps, get your analysis. The confusion between input types was eliminated by making the choice explicit and consequence-clear.
Results That Drive Action
A completely redesigned results screen with clear hierarchy: what the AI found, what it means for this person, and specifically what to do in your next interaction. Charts are now contextualised with plain-language interpretation.
Visual Design System
A new design system that positioned Mindreader as a serious professional tool — confident, clean, and trustworthy. Dark mode default with selective use of colour to guide attention, not decorate.
